Just returned having taken my 9 year old grandson for a session. I know that many do not like small stocked waters but it is ideal for him ( and me!). They do a 12 fish catch and release ticket for £16 which we can share. Chap next to us was very successful so grandson asked what fly. He kindly gave him a spare flexiflloss bloodworm. We already had one bloodworm. I used that and grandson used the one given to him. Had our 6 each, losing another 4 each. We, along with most others, blanked last time there.
Also had a kingfisher and dipper? flying around us.
Then back to the cafe for a bacon sandwich.
Lovely start to the Christmas holiday.
Just a warning though. If the local shoot is on, they often have 40 for breakfast in the fishing cafe and the car park is full. Best to phone during the shooting season or go after 9am.
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
